Civic Heart (CH) is a widely recognized non-sectarian social service organization

To continue CH’s 34+ year history of growth and success, CH seeks to engage an extraordinary individual to succeed our current, retiring CEO. This individual will lead a dedicated 70+ member staff, and work with a committed board of directors drawn from the greater Houston community.

If you are the right person for this position, your work/life experience will include the following:

Thorough understanding of the culture of philanthropy with a strong record of fundraising and/or business development success

Team leadership skills and the ability to value, develop, and guide dedicated staff members and volunteers

An ability to build ongoing relationships and support with community organizations, donors, patrons, and other stakeholders

Strong connection to Houston and affinity for Third Ward’s history, culture, and diverse population

Experience developing and managing budgets in association with lay oversight

A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience including at least 5 years in a C-Suite leadership position, preferably with a non-profit organization

A Bachelor’s degree (higher degree preferred) from an accredited institution
